Downtown is clean, safe, and welcoming—the perception that Downtown is safe is also a reality. According to recent FBI statistics, Pittsburgh is one of the safest large cities in the country. Keeping Downtown streets well lit, patrolled, and clean all contribute to keeping Downtown streets safe.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
PDP Clean Team
The PDP’s Clean Team is well traveled in their efforts to keep Downtown clean. They don their signature yellow uniforms and walk a combined 12,000 miles annually, removing trash from the sidewalks, emptying and cleaning trash cans and cigarette receptacles, removing graffiti and handbills and power-washing sidewalks and alleyways.
PDP Street Team
The PDP Street Team focuses on addressing and managing panhandling and homeless issues Downtown. Street Team members are specially trained to deal with the social circumstances surrounding these issues.
